Dear Woman-Led Business owner ,
As we navigate through the challenges of running a business, one thing that often gets neglected is our financial intelligence. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day operations and forget about the bigger picture of building wealth and financial stability. But the truth is, increasing our financial intelligence can solve many of life’s problems.
We often find ourselves stuck in the rat race of working to pay bills, without realizing that there is a science to building wealth. It all starts with a decision – a decision to change, to break through the limiting beliefs we have about money, and to start building wealth. However, unless we grew up in a magical environment with wealthy parents who had financial wisdom, no one knows this stuff.
If you’ve ever beaten yourself up for making the wrong financial decision, remember that you didn’t know what you didn’t know. It’s important to focus on what we appreciate and want to grow, rather than what we fear and want to avoid. When we focus on what is lacking, we base our lives in feelings of insufficiency, inadequacy, and incompleteness, and thus we start feeling more of each.
It’s no secret that having more money can reduce problems and minimize financial stress and anxiety in our lives. But approaching the pursuit of more wealth from a posture of scarcity can create more stress or worsen existing issues. Negative emotional stacking can keep us away from building wealth. If you’ve ever experienced money-related stress, it’s time to carefully examine the beliefs you have and take a look at your overall approach to money.
The key to a healthier, more successful approach is to appreciate what you have while going after what you desire. Your brain is not pre-wired for happiness and wealth. You need to rewire it. The good news is that you get to choose which emotions you want to experience the most. And because your unconscious beliefs drive your emotions, you need to first address your beliefs about money.
Negative emotions around money need to be addressed and changed because they create a vicious, unconscious cycle that no matter how many wealthy habits you practice, if you don’t fix the negative, you will keep coming back to those emotions, thoughts, and feelings around money and they will sabotage your efforts.
The only way to break the pattern is to confront the dreaded task.
You are stronger than your brain. The way to go forward is to face the facts and do the task. Your anxiety will temporarily increase, but if you stay with it, it will steadily decline. You have to tolerate the short-term pain to achieve the long-term gain.
As women-led businesses, let’s make a conscious effort to increase our financial intelligence, to break through the limiting beliefs we have about money, and to build wealth for ourselves and our businesses. Let’s focus on what we appreciate and want to grow, and let go of what we fear and want to avoid. Remember, you didn’t know what you didn’t know, but now you do, and it’s time to take action.
With compassion and support,
